“When anybody asks, 'What are you writing about now?' if I try to reply, the book-in-the-works sounds so idiotic to me that I think, 'Why am I trying to write that puerile junk?' So now I give up; if I could talk about it, I wouldn't have to write it."

A Funky Farrago Of Favorites

Saturday, July 17, 2010

I was looking back at my gigantic list of Etsy Favorites recently, and was struck by what a mishmash of items I have there. I tried to weed a few out, but I really do love them all. It doesn't matter that I will never buy most of them. It's window shopping at its best where I can go back and look at all the pretty things over and over again.

Some of the items in my Favorites list could actually be considered somewhat practical. (Did you happen to notice how many qualifiers were in that sentence?) Some of them are completely impractical.

There are clothes that are absolutely fabulous, but would never fit me ... or my budget ...

... and there are clothes that I would definitely wear, and would fit my budget quite nicely.
There is furniture that is over the top frou-frou ...
... and furniture that is rustic and homey.

There are things I love even though they are so "not me" ...

... and things that scream my name.

I think the nice word for it is "eclectic".

Oh Geekwif, my heartbeat quickens at the mere mention of Etsy.
And I LOVE your favorites! Especially that dress and the Jane Austen quote shirt. I might have to hop over and take a look at that shirt.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment over at my place. I'm with you on trying to change my focus to gratitude! :)
